Hi, welcome to Miss Blue Sky's land.
To start with, I thought I'd just introduce myself with a few things about me.
My real name is Layla Jane Grant.
I was born in Dumfries, 25 years ago and moved up north a wee bit when I was 9.
I have 3 beautiful children (2 boys, 1 girl) .
When I was 16, I had a stroke. This affected my right side but I have mostly recovered from it,I just have limited use of my right hand. This would probably be a good time to mention that I don't like pity, so don't feel sorry for me!
I love computers, so I'm currently studying for a degree in Computing and Design with the Open University. It's a lot of work but I'm enjoying it!
I was learning Arabic for about 4 months before giving up. God it's hard!
I do a lot of walking.
I love to cook. Poppy's (my little girl) favourite is carrot quiche, which my mum taught me to cook. In fact, most of the things that I like to cook for my children are my mum's recipes. I also like to bake cakes when I have the time. Unfortunately, I also like to eat them!
I choose the name of this blog because I'm always so optimistic (and Mr Blue Sky is one of my favourite songs). I don't know if that is a good thing or not because I sometimes think things will get better and they don't.
I really enjoy Mummy-Poppy time on Saturdays. That is when I take Poppy to her dance class class in the morning, then we go and do something different from usual. Maybe go on the train somewhere, to the park, museums etc.
I like most kinds of music but my little boy(sean,3) likes the Wham and he also likes dancing to 'it's raining men'. Not that I'm worried about him or anything.
I hate when I don't get my own way and also I'm a sore loser. I remember when I was younger, I used to sit out when my family were playing board games, because I was so afraid of losing.
I am very independant.
I would love to drive but I think it would lead to chronic laziness.
I don't like people who judge someone before they get to know them, but sometimes I realize I do that.
I love reading blogs!
